Convention updates - cancellation

Unfortunately (for those heading to the conventions), with his filming schedule, Tahmoh has to cancel appearances at this coming weekend's Asylum 13 in Birmingham and Awesome Con in Milwaukee next month.

Update on The Portal

Some developments down The Portal front. An official Tumblr for the film/web series has been launched. I also know for certain that Jonathan, the director/writer and the producers love fan art, and are trying to curate them so if you've done any fan art based on the trailer, do feel free to submit something for them. They would love to see what you've done!

Also, this post suggests that the short film will be made available online sometime in the fall/autumn. Stay tuned! As soon as we have news that we can share, you'll probably hear it on our Twitter first, but the site will also be updated!

CBC's Strange Empire

Tahmoh will be in CBC's upcoming drama, Strange Empire. According to their Twitter, the show is a "drama set in an 1860s Western frontier town". That's all we can confirm at the moment, but stay tuned for more announcements when we have more news!

News on The Portal

We've received some news about The Portal a couple of days ago. It was nominated for the Best Short Film category by the Directors Guild of Canada. The awards ceremony will be held on Saturday, October 25 at The Carlu in Toronto. On the same day, the team also discovered that they've been awarded funding by The Independent Production Fund to make it into a digital (web) series.

One of the best things about Supernatural conventions is all the full-panel videos! They've all been tweeted via @AboutTahmoh, but I thought making them available in one post will be easier for future reference. So here they are in order:

It's always part of Supernatural's conventions to end with a little gig by Jason Manns. Jason is apparently joined by convention guests all the time, and they got Tahmoh up on stage to join in the singing at around the 4 minute mark.


And as a little bonus, Jensen Ackles (Dean Winchester) talks about why Tahmoh hasn't been pranked on set, around 20 minutes 20 seconds into the video below.


Enjoy! And it looks like Tahmoh's also converted a new generation of BSG fans as we've been getting a lot of notifications on @AboutTahmoh from fans saying how much they love BSG and Helo! 

Tahmoh heads to Reign

E! Online reports that Tahmoh is heading to Reign, CW's show on the early years of Mary, Queen of Scots. Tahmoh's first episode will air on May 1st, and E! Online has an exclusive first look on the character he plays (geo-locked to the US).

Reign airs on Thursdays at 9/8pm Central on the CW. As I understand it, the show airs on the M3 network in Canada on Wednesdays, 8/7pm Central.

Additionally, Fangirl Quest, 2 fans who've been travelling to filming locations around the UK, were in Vancouver recently and stumbled into Tahmoh and Misha Collins shooting Supernatural. They document their set visit here (slight spoilers, just in case).

Tahmoh will be starring in the short film, The Portal. The producers have just announced that the film will premiere at the Cleveland International Film Festival in March. If you're in the area, tickets can be booked via the film festival website.

Also, Star-Crossed, the new CW show we reported that Tahmoh will be on last year, started airing a couple of weeks ago. Tahmoh's character has already shown up in this week's episode, and since numerous reports have stated that it's a recurring role, we urge everyone to continue watching. If you've missed it, US viewers can catch up on the CW site. The show airs every Monday, on CW 8/7 pm Central. No information on Canadian or UK airdates yet, but as soon as we know more, we'll let you know.

Painkillers (film) and Criminal Minds

Tahmoh has been shooting the film, Painkillers, in Alberta with Colm Feore, Erica Durance and Lesley-Ann Brandt. ET Canada visited the set, and you can watch the video below. Although they didn't interview Tahmoh, you can see him in the clip.

For those in US and Canada, the 200th episode of Criminal Minds airs tonight (Wednesday, 9/8pm Central) on CBS and CTV. Tahmoh plays Michael Hastings, a reportedly crucial role in this very special episode so make sure you do tune in or set your DVR for tonight!

I think he's also been announced for a few Supernatural conventions for 2014. Once we've sorted out which ones, we'll make another post.

Another convention and more casting news

Tahmoh has confirmed that he'll be attending the Montreal Comiccon that's taking place at Palais des congrès du Montréal on September 13-15. There's a BSG reunion, and I believe fellow Continuum cast members are also going to be there. For more details, check out the comiccon website.

In more casting news, it looks like Tahmoh is heading back to the CW for a recurring role on another show, Star-Crossed. Described as "Roswell meets District 9", Tahmoh will reportedly play Sector Enforcement Unit Officer Jack Beaumont. It's a midseason show and no date has been announced so far for the premiere. Tahmoh joins the cast of Supernatural

If you're a fan of the CW show, you'd have known season 8 of Supernatural ended with a lot of fallen angels. Tahmoh has been cast - in a recurring role according to the Hollywood Reporter and multiple other sources - as Ezekiel. Executive producer Jeremy Carver described Ezekiel as "a dignified warrior angel injured in the Fall".

Supernatural returns to the CW this fall/autumn on Tuesday, October 8 at 9pm ET, and Tahmoh is scheduled to appear in the season 9 premiere.

If you've never seen the show, past seasons are available on Hulu and Netflix. The angel arc (which began in season 4) is deeply embedded in the show's mythology. Supernatural Wiki is a wonderful fandom resource on all things SPN.

Continuum & a summary of convention appearances

Tahmoh was back as Jim Martin in the 2nd season premiere of Continuum last week. If you're in Canada, you can watch the episode online on Showcase's website. And it does look like it'll be a recurring role, judging from the where the story is going, so do keep watching! Plus, Continuum is a great show anyway.

I've also updated the Calendar plugin on the site with the conventions Tahmoh will be going to this year. In a nutshell, they are, in chronological order:

•  Galacticon 3 in Houston, Texas from May 23-26 (the con marks the 10th anniversary of the re-imagined series).
• ConnectiCon in Hartford, Connecticut from July 12-14
• Dragon*Con in Atlanta, Georgia from August 30 - September 2

Dragon*Con, Bomb Girls and Lifetime TV's Stalkers

Tahmoh has confirmed that he will also appear in Dragon*Con this year, which will be held from August 30 - September 2nd in Atlanta, Georgia. So if you're in the area, get your tickets quick! (NB: Edward James Olmos and Richard Hatch are also scheduled to appear).

There was a mix-up in the dates of when Tahmoh will be appearing in Bomb Girls. It turns out he was in episodes 8 (Fifth Column) and 9 (Something Fierce). Both episodes are now available to watch online if you're in Canada. And here's another promo pic that Global TV released.

If you're in the US, Lifetime TV is showing the world premiere of Stalkers tonight, April 13 at 8/7pm Central. Tahmoh stars in the Lifetime Original Movie with Jodi Lyn O'Keefe and Mena Suvari.
