UPDATE: For those interested in SPOILERS, check out the Chicago Tribune's interview with Bradley Thompson and David Weddle, the writers of the two-part Season 2 opener. They had this to say about Kara and Helo:

Starbuck is intimacy phobic. She has many lovers, but never lets anyone get too close to her. So if she and Helo remain on Caprica for some time, anything could happen.
