Tahmoh autograph card for Smallville Season 6

For any Smallville fans out there, Tahmoh was one of 9 guest stars from the show's sixth season to sign autograph cards for Inkworks. To buy just Tahmoh's autograph card, head over to ebay where there are half a dozen available right now.

For any Hush fans out there, Tori Spelling also apparently guest-starred on Smallville last season, so you can score both Tahmoh and Tori's autographs. If you haven't seen Hush, it airs again this Wednesday at 2pm on Lifetime.

New Interview with Tahmoh now online

Kindreds, a Helo/Sharon fansite, recently conducted an excellent and extensive interview with Tahmoh. A full transcript is now online in two parts:

Hera represents something very, very big in the Battlestar universe. A bringing together of two races in the name of love. You’ve said before that you’re proud of your own mixed heritage, and I’m wondering if that mixed heritage gives you a deeper appreciation of what’s being told in the Helo/Sharon/Hera story?

Tahmoh: Absolutely. I think that story is more relevant and more important right now, with where we’re at in history, than maybe any other time. Maybe since the civil-rights movement in the 60’s. Right now we have such a clash of cultures and religion around the world, and I like to think that it’s not breeding more ignorance. If anything, I hope it’s forcing us to be open to different cultures, ideas, religions. To agree to disagree.

And that’s an optimistic view, but it’s a tumultuous crazy time in the world right now, and a lot of the reason for that is ignorance. People aren’t accepting the idea that it’s a big, beautiful, wild world out there. People have different views, and we have to accepting and accommodating to that, because that’s what the future of the world is about...
"I did a great project last Christmas, which was Trick ‘r Treat. I got to work with Michael Dougherty, who’s the writer of X-Men 2 and Superman Returns. He’s just a brilliant, brilliant kid. He’s awesome and we clicked right away. He’s a friend. I think it’s going to be an awesome movie, I really do. I’m only in there so much, but I got to act with Leslie Bibb, who’s a sweetheart; really funny, great little actress.

I can’t wait to see that movie. That was fun. It’s been a good year for me. There’s a great local project, The Green Chain where I have an extremely long monologue, which was a lot of fun to do. I’ve never done a nine page monologue, which took like 13 minutes to do, so we’ll end up seeing that. I’m looking forward to that. That was a neat experience in itself, a totally different character. "
In happy news, he mentioned he's signed on to appear at the official BSG convention in November in Burbank!

Also, he wanted to pass on the news of a new project he's involved in, Whistler:
"It’s pretty much a Canadian OC, and it’s based in Whistler, one of the biggest ski resorts in the world just outside of Vancouver. It’s in the soap opera genre, and it’s very much like the OC. But the character I get to play in it is just incredible. I play this reclusive artist who’s an ex-junkie that’s become really quite famous, and I’m approached by one of the lead female characters played by Holly Dignard. She plays Nicole who works for this big hotel chain and approaches me to donate a piece, and I’m straight-up a prick to her. Very, very anti-social and hot and cold with her. We have this tumultuous relationship that goes over what is now a four episodes..."
I'll try to find out more and post an update.

ETA: More on Whistler now posted.

Smallville "Prototype" Reviews and Screencaps

Tahmoh guest starred in last night's episode of Smallville on the CW. Here are a couple screen caps and early reviews. I'll post more later. (See other photos/screencaps here.)

Here's what the critics had to say:

  • TV Guide
"This was just the episode that needed to happen before next week's finale. In fact, I wish Smallville had strung together more episodes like this one to end the season... I enjoyed the prototype that was simply a glorified pawn in Lex's (not so) top-secret project..."
  • Buddy TV
"How to create the perfect Smallville episode. First cast the amazing Helo from Battlestar Galactica Tahmoh Penikett in the role of an involuntarily meteor infused super baddy with Clark like abilities, and a few more. "
  • TV Squad
"Ares is Helo from Battlestar Galactica! Tahmoh Penikett is a terrific actor who lives in Vancouver, where both Smallville and Battlestar Galactica are shot... Ares turned out to not only be a nice foe for Clark to deal with (and possibly see again in the future?) but he also showed some subterfuge with Lex, a senator and Lana. He also had a tied to Lois that was an interesting subplot, and managed to give Ares / Wes a sense of humanity."

Smallville "Prototype" preview & director's cut clip

The episode, in which Tahmoh guest stars, is scheduled to air this Thursday, May 10th at 8pm on The CW. The episode was written by Steven S. DeKnight and directed by Mat Beck.

The CW has posted a preview trailer and a Director's Cut video clip for the ep.

Watch the director's cut scene.

Watch the episode preview.

Meanwhile, TV Guide has also released the following description:
Lex's secret efforts to use DNA from meteor freaks to turn Wes Keenan (Tahmoh Penikett) into a “super soldier” may be exposed by a corrupt senator (Alan C. Peterson), so Lex sends Wes to kill him, but Lois sees everything and becomes Wes' next target.

Glad to see the silver boy shorts are gone...

Tahmoh in last night’s Smallville

Thanks to Lisa & Michelle for the heads up that Tahmoh was actually briefly in last night's new Smallville in advance of his full guest star appearance in two weeks. Here are a few screencaps:

The episode, "Nemesis" (6.19), features Tahmoh as "Wes Keenan," a special forces soldier who supposedly died fighting in Afghanistan, as you can see from his service record:

Not sure why Lex Luthor thought silver boy shorts were appropriate for his evil schemes, but um, they must be. Quite the boy toy look, lol.

You can see other screencaps of the scene, where Tahmoh looks broader, but is less well-lit, by superherofan here.

Tahmoh to play "Wes Keenan" on Smallville

The CW has just released this plot summary for the upcoming Smallville episode, "Prototype" (6.21), in which Tahmoh guest stars:

Lex has been secretly trying to turn Wes Keenan (guest star Tahmoh Penikett), a military man who supposedly died fighting in Afghanistan, into a "super soldier" by injecting him with DNA pulled from the various meteor freaks he has captured. After a crooked senator (guest star Alan C. Peterson) threatens to expose his secret labs, Lex dispatches Wes to kill the senator, but Lois witnesses the attack and inadvertently becomes the super soldier's next target. Meanwhile, Clark tries to convince Lana to leave Lex. Allison Mack and Annette O'Toole also star.
Sounds like Tahmoh will feature rather prominently in the episode!

Tahmoh in upcoming Smallville ep, "Prototype"

Thanks to Sophie for the heads up that Tahmoh will guest star on an upcoming episode of Smallville this May. The episode, "Prototype" (6.21), is scheduled to air on Thursday, May 10th on the CW.

Spoilers for Smallville below!

Here is the latest information on the episode, thanks to KryptonSite!

In "Prototype", it seems Senator Burke has been pushing billions to LexCorp for a project called 'Ares' (which if you know your Greek mythology, and who doesn't, Ares is the son of Zeus). Burke finds out that Lex wants to make multiple Ares instead of delivering the prototype. He threatens to cutoff funding and Lex threatens to expose how much money is in the Senator's Cayman account. Later, while Lois is confronting the Senator in front of a restaurant about his Cayman account, he is killed along with his bodyguards by an unseen force. It seems Lex's prototype has escaped...

Earlier in the season, in an episode titled "Nemesis," Lex Luthor has in his custody a former special ops agent named Wes Keenan. Could Wes Keenan be this super "prototype" that is hinted at?

Thanks to Celebrity Photo Blog for the images. See their post for super high-res versions and the 4 other non-Tahmoh promotional photos from the episode. You can also find high-res CW watermarked high-res images from the episode here.

Notably, Tahmoh has already appeared on Smallville, as "Vince" in "Resurrection" (3.15):

Photos and clips of Tahmoh on "Smallville" [2004]

Thanks to Jeff over at the excellent Helo/Sharon fansite, Kindreds, you can see Tahmoh's guest appearance on Smallville from 2004. He's made clips of Tahmoh's scenes and posted 10 screenshots as well.

Go see the clips and the photos.

Tahmoh has talked about shooting this episode in several interviews. With all the lying in bed in the hospital scenes, he apparently fell asleep between takes!

I previously posted screencaps here.

Tahmoh in "Smallville" (2004)

He played Vince in the "Smallville" episode "Resurrection" (3.15). I haven't seen the ep, but here's a plot summary that helps explain the pics:

While his father (John Schneider) is awaiting surgery, Clark (Tom Welling) befriends a young boy, Garrett (guest star James Kirk), whose brother Vince (guest star Tahmoh Penikett) just died from liver failure.

However, everyone is shocked when Vince shows up at the hospital alive and seemingly well - until his liver starts failing again. In a desperate attempt to keep his brother alive, Garrett straps a Kryptonite bomb to himself and demands that Vince be given Jonathan's liver or he will blow up the building
