Huge BSG ep. 10 spoilers

Both the BSG Pre-Flight Briefing and Pegasus Galaxy Forums have posted spoilers for ep. 10, the last ep before the season break until January. It promises to be a big episode from all accounts.

You can read the spoilers here and here.

But I warn you the spoilers are HUGE.

Where in Vancouver... update!

Just identified:

Koerner Library, University of British Columbia
(See more pics here).
----------
Earlier this week, I challenged you to identify Vancouver sites which appeared on Galactica... who knew there were so many with a Vancouver connection? I offer other reader's identifications and some of their commentary below.

I'd also like to say Vancouver is a far larger city than I realized. That is all.

Thanks to everyone that's responded so far!

Simon Fraser University (SFU)
"also used in the BSG Pilot mini."

Ah ha! I knew it was institutional... (Photo found here.)
Scotiabank building
"Given that I can't see mountains in the background, they either edited them out or they're taking it from the north side."

Wow, that's some serious distortion. To see the original photo and some facts about the building, check out this site.
----------
It's a start, but we could know more...

"Anywhere downtown, really. Maybe even in Yaletown, or that nice kinda rich beach side of downtown near English Bay. Near Silvia's."
"This is looking up from either Hastings or Pender ... there's an elevated highway of sorts."

Behind-the-Scenes Interview with Tahmoh

HypaSpace interviewed Tahmoh and Grace Park on the set of BSG, "Grace Park & Tahmoh Penikett Talk BSG". HypaSpace is a news/info show produced by Space, Canada's sci-fi Channel.

You can see informal pics, the text of their interview and a cute clip of Grace and Tahmoh being silly. It's a must see.

Go check it out!

Tremendous thanks to Sci-fi for the head's up!

"Flesh and Bone" Tonight on Sci-fi @ 10/9c

Thankfully Sci-fi has recovered its senses and decided to re-air "Flesh and Bone." Of course, maybe they always planned to show them out of order. Anyways, this ep rocks in whatever order it appears.

Some nice CapBoomer development in this ep. Plus it was all nice and sunny for once. Though I've always wondered why she takes Helo's pulse the morning after... was she really concerned it was that good?

Meanwhile, on far-off Caprica, another Sharon conspires with her Cylon associates Doral and Number Six to convince Helo to remain on the planet and start a new life.
Anyone else struck by how poor a summary this is of what actually occurred? Silly Sci-fi.

Go to scifi.com for a more complete summary and two deleted scenes.

Or, if you've seen the episode before, you should definitely listen to Ron Moore's podcast commentary, which you can find here.

Thanks to BladeRunner at Galactica Station for the cap.

New Season 2 BSG Spoilers

Some new spoiler photos have been posted over at Space's site (official site of the Canadian channel that broadcasts BSG, I think). See the promo images on the top line.

TVGuide's Ausiello also had some spoiler tidbits.
Question: Season 2 Battlestar Galactica scoop? — Gerald
SPOILERS and speculation behind the cut...
Ausiello: Two new Cylons will be introduced, and one of them may be played by an actor/actress who previously worked with one of the show's producers. Hmmm...
In light of the info below... I'd bet that Lucy Lawless is one of the new cylons:
Lucy checked in with us about her appearance on Battlestar Galactica. She said she's signed on to do one episode of a character that could come back. The character she plays is a reporter, D'anna Biers, who is a threat to expose the goings-on on the ship. Her presence ratchets up tensions between the crew members.

"This was a chance to work with old friend, David Eick, who was mentored by Rob on Hercules. They actually came to me to be on BG in the beginning, but with two tiny kids, I was not interested in the one-hour lifestyle. Looking forward to playing with the wonderful BG cast, though, and visiting my old Vancouver haunts from drama school days." -- Lucy
Thanks to Pam at Ron Moore's Galactica!

Where in Vancouver? I mean Caprica.

This post was inspired by the Unofficial Battlestar Blog's post identifying the garden on Cloud Nine as the University of British Columbia's rose garden and by Battlestar Aggregatica's id-ing the dramatic building below as the Vancouver Public Library.

Vancouver Public Library
So... where in Vancouver? aka Name that Building!

This building screams 70s institutional architecture. Every campus has one such concrete monstrosity. I'd be shocked if this wasn't on some university campus.

An imposing corporate edifice. Telecommunications perhaps?

Nice Dutch colonial architecture, with a friendly bike rack.

Is that a Sheraton hotel? And, more pressingly, what are those movie posters on the building at left?

Finally, identify this highway/parking structure!
Any ideas? Any takers? It'd be fun to find out...

Thanks to Northern Lights for all the caps (except the last one).

New BSG Season 2 Sneak-Peak Video

Thanks to Spacen over at the Pegasus Galaxy Forums, we can now all see the new sneak-peak vid that Sci-Fi aired on Monday for the second season of BSG:
The Sci Fi Channel aired a second sneak peek of Battlestar Galactica's second season during their "Sci Fi Monday" Stargate SG-1 lineup tonight. This commercial seemed to concentrate on the story behind the cylons.
Go watch it now.

This promo doesn't feature Helo as heavily as the previous one, but I've made one cap for those interested. (I've put it behind spoiler tags to protect the wary):

Tuesday Tahmoh

Tuesday's such a blah day, I've decided to spice it up with a new Tahmoh photo. Enjoy.

Dr. Noah Hamilton from Hush.

Thanks to Northern Lights for the cap.

Tahmoh now listed at TV.com

Tahmoh has earned a listing over at TV.com. It includes a brief bio as well as many of his starring and guest-starring roles. If you register, you can add trivia or additional information, write reviews and track him.

See the Tahmoh Penikett entry at TV.com.

It also lists recent appearances on TV with episode summaries, which is handy.

(I've tried to compile the most comprehensive filmography I could here.)

Season 2 BSG cast photos

I've delayed posting this as I'm annoyed there aren't any shots of Helo, but, if you haven't already, you should check out the new promotional season 2 photos of the cast, hosted in beautiful high-res by Dark-Thoughts.net.

See the Season 2 Cast Photos.
They're very pretty.

Lots of nice icons based on the new pics have been popping up over at Galactica Icons. My favorites so far are here and here.

Do you think suggesting to the NBC Universal marketing department that they should include some shots of Tahmoh would help us get some Helo promo shots? Hmmm.

New David Eick BSG Season 2 Video Blog

Sci-Fi has posted a cool new videoblog with producer David Eick.

Go behind the scenes with executive producer David Eick and see how episodes of Battlestar Galactica are created, from the concept meetings to the shoot on the soundstage, with this SCIFI.COM-exclusive behind-the-scenes feature.
The first blog video shows behind-the-scenes of filming ep. 5. You also see inside a production meeting. It's good fun, but spoilery.

Episode 205, Day 2

Yah, new Galactica content! No Helo sightings, but you do see Kara...

Thanks to Sci-fi for the head's up.

"Colonial Day" Tonight on Sci-fi at 10/9c

Lots of Helo in tonight's ep. It has alot of other redeeming features as well.

Light-years away, on Cylon-occupied Caprica, Sharon must make an impossible choice — if she is to save Helo's life, she must finally reveal to him that she is a Cylon.
Go to scifi.com for a more complete summary and one deleted scene.

Or, if you've seen the episode before, you should definitely listen to Ron Moore's podcast commentary, which you can find here.

The Chicago Tribune called it one of 9 shows not to miss this weekend:

"Battlestar Galactica," 9 p.m. Friday, Sci Fi: Hardball politics take center stage as the president of the Galactica fleet (Mary McDonnell) confronts challengers to her leadership, among them political prisoner Tom Zarek (original "Battlestar Galactia" star Richard Hatch). If you haven't done so yet, it's time to get caught up with this stellar sci-fi drama, which is airing repeats each Friday until the second season begins July 15.
Thanks to Northern Lights for the cap.

Spoilers for ep. 9 of the second season...

Thanks to Sci-fi for the heads up that the Pegasus Galaxy Forums have once again posted spoilers for an upcoming season 2 BSG ep, "The Flight of the Phoenix."

Some good Helo dramatic moments ahead it appears.
Episode 209 - Flight of the Phoenix
Go read the full spoilers!

[Helo-specific spoilers below]

SPOILERS!

Helo and Starbuck are playing cards, with Kat and Hotdog (who have recently been given their flight wings) also present. Kat is being quite cruel to Helo, repeatedly bringing up the fact that he was in love with a Cylon (when he was back on Caprica with Cylon Boomer). Starbuck is not amused, and when Helo leaves to play hammerball, she makes that fact known...

There is also a scene with Helo visiting Boomer in her cell on the Galactica.

SPOILERS!

Tahmoh icons

If you're in the market for some Tahmoh icons, then you're in luck, thanks to Amsie (aka shadowserenity):

New BSG Season 2 premiere countdown...

Since I seem to be all about learning how to add functionality to the site, I've added a countdown to the BSG second season premiere. You can see it in the sidebar at left. Less than a month to go!

So excited.

Poll: How should Helo explain?

So now that Adam and Eve (oh, I mean, Helo and Boomer) have been discovered on Caprica, Helo's going to have some explaining to do re: his knocked up Cylon girlfriend.

So this week, I invite you all to weigh in on "What should Helo say about CapBoomer to keep his fellow Colonials from killing her?"

My current state of silliness has provided you with these options:

1. She just LOOKS like a cylon!
2. I've reprogrammed her.
3. She knows where Earth is!
4. She's hot.
5. Her spine glows red!
6. I knocked her up and think she's worth keeping around.
Vote Now!
<---------

Poll Results: Favorite Dr. Noah Outfit

So after 4 showings of Hush on Lifetime, the clear winner for favorite Dr. Noah outfit is Towel.

Personally I'm more of a black leather jacket girl, but I bow to public opinion:

1. Towel - 62%
2. Black leather jacket - 17%
3. Goofy swim trunks - 10%

See more Hush caps over at Northern Lights.

To see how much Towel crushed the competition:

Shiny new feature

FAUX SPOILER TEST (continued)

Even spoiler phobes can test out my new feature. It has all the illicitness of clicking on a spoiler with none of the cost...

If you want to know what happens in Season 2...

SPOILER: Helo takes over the cylon empire!

All about Tahmoh Penikett banner

So I'm not so much with the creativity, but I did manage to make this one site banner for anyone who'd care to link to the site:

It'll live down at the bottom of the left sidebar. Please don't hot-link or the site might come down and then everyone will hate you. Ok, maybe not everyone. But a vocal few.

Not sure what I'm going to do with affiliate banners, but email me if interested.

New Helo Music Video

A great new Helo vid by morelight has been posted over at Galactica Vids.

Stronger Than Dirt (June 2005)
Focus: Lt. Karl "Helo" Agathon
Artist: Tom McRae
File size: 15.9mb
Go watch!

Last Chance to see Hush

Tonight is the last time Lifetime is airing Tahmoh's thriller, Hush, so check it out if you haven't already...

June 12 at 7 pm et/pt

Hush must be doing well because they moved the last screening to primetime (from the early afternoon) as the lead in to the premiere of the new season of Strong Medicine. Or maybe someone in marketing liked the whole doctor link...

(More about Hush here.)

BSG Spoilers abound

So much to spoil, so little time. Some quasi-new spoilers are floating around, for those interested, there are some interesting tidbits to be gleaned from the following two articles...

Over at Hollywood North Report:

"Battlestar Galactica's Season Two Is Shaping Up"

Spoilers were revealed on upcoming episodes, including some interesting cast additions. Read on if you have an inquiring, Colonial mind.
UGossip has a small and not too surprising spoiler from E. J. Olmos:

Olmos is in the midst of shooting the Sci-Fi Channel's "Battlestar Galactica" series and will be rushing to fly down from production in Vancouver to make the Jonsson Cancer Center Epicurean Evening event. "If it's at all humanly possible, I will be there. We're taking it one hour at a time," he tells us. His Cmdr. William Adama character on "Battlestar" is in especially heavy scenes on the show that launches its second season in July....
(What Olmos said is in the Comment to this post).

"Hand of God" on Sci-Fi Tonight at 10/9c

Tonight's ep is pretty awesome, though I guess I'd say that about most eps. Personally I prefer the human drama, but a good action ep is always fun. In this ep, the Colonies Strike Back!

Eh, it's also the barn ep. Lots of Helo scenes.

On Cylon-occupied Caprica, Sharon and Helo's flight from the Cylon overseers suddenly becomes more complicated when Sharon discovers she's pregnant.
Go to scifi.com for a more complete summary and one deleted scene.

Or, if you've seen the episode before, you should definitely listen to Ron Moore's podcast commentary, which you can find here.

The ever friendly poster Sci-Fi suggested that if you've already seen the ep and already listened to Moore's commentary (and, let's be serious, you have), you could also give Alan Light's podcast episode commentaries a try. I've never listened, but who can say no to more Galactica talk?

Thanks to Northern Lights for the cap.

Hush (2005) on Lifetime tonight @ 9/8c

In case you haven't discovered the wonderfulness that is Tahmoh's new thriller Hush, Lifetime is giving you yet another opportunity tonight.

HUSH - June 9 at 9 pm et/pt

Stars: Tori Spelling, Victoria Pratt and Tahmoh Penikett

Nina is thrilled when her hubby, Noah, suggests they move back to his picturesque hometown. She looks forward to the fresh start, but little does she know that Noah's crazy ex-girlfriend Callie has an unhealthy obsession with her spouse. Callie will stop at nothing to get her man back — including impersonating Nina. You won't believe what happens next!
It's not Shakespeare, but it's good fun.

Small Spoiler for BSG Season 2

This has been widely reported already, but TVGuide's Ask Ausiello has some news on Galactica's second season:

Got any intel on the next season of Battlestar Galactica?

Ausiello: (NAME IN COMMENT BELOW) is gonna do a few episodes playing a Christiane Amanpour-type character. And I hear Sci Fi censors are freaking out about a really disturbing (yet visually stunning) scene in Episode 5. An upcoming issue of TV Guide will have more on that little controversy.
Here's hoping the scene makes it.

New on Set Photo of Tahmoh!

Kris Krug over at Battlestar Aggregatica has posted a photo he took of Tahmoh on the BSG set (ok in the parkland surrounding Vancouver).

Tahmoh yesterday:

(Click here or on the photo to see the larger version Kris posted to Flickr).

I got a chance to snap a quick couple of Tahmoh Penikett (Helo). He was cool, but his car picked him up for the day before we had much of a chance to talk.
He also met and got to talk to Grace Park.

Go read about it and see the photos of Grace and Tahmoh!

Thanks so much to Kris!

Awesome new BSG action music video

As the philosophy of this blog is definitely not "no news is good news" and in the absence of any real Tahmoh news... I bring you a new kick-ass vid by un4scene.

Rock Star (June 2005)
Song: Rock Star by N.E.R.D.
Focus: Entire Cast
Size: 16.223mb

Notes: I wanted to make a fun action vid. I had originally intended to use source from the mini and season 1, but the mini was full of such great material it filled the video. This focuses on the fight of the cylons vs humans as they try to one up each other.
Go watch and comment!

It really made me want to watch the mini again...

(More Helo/BSG vids here.)

New Spoilery Tricia Helfer & James Callis Interview

Silentwolfdog at Ragnar Anchorage has transcribed a great, funny joint interview with Tricia Helfer (Six) and James Callis (Baltar), which you can read over at Galactica Station.

Patrick Lee conducted the interview, which appears in the August issue of the official magazine of the Sci-fi channel. The article, entitled "Power Couple", is slightly spoilery for Season 2, but in any case is a great read...

If you had a real fight, who would win? You or Katee? You or Grace?

Tricia: Whoa, I don't know [laughs]. I think Katee could pull out some stops. I think I've got size and length. And I'm pretty strong as well. ... Grace is pretty tiny [laughs]. Yeah, she's just really small. So I'm thinking I'd have a pretty good shot.

James: I could whip every single one of them. ...Nobody better come near, or it's going to be the end of the world for them a bit sooner than they thought. ...They're all in trouble if they just think it. [This causes Tricia to laugh out loud.]
So the Helo connection is rather weak, but it offers a behind-the-scenes look at filming and it's spoilery... and Six did kiss Helo in "33".

Unfortunately, some search engines direct people here instead.

I also made some screen caps for those who might be interested, but to avoid spoiling anyone they're posted over at Hidden Elysium.

Hush on Lifetime Tonight @ 11/10c

Three hours of Tahmoh in one night! If you're a Tahmoh fan then his new thriller, Hush, is a must see. Lifetime is re-airing it tonight.

HUSH
Friday, June 3rd at 11 pm et/pt
Genre: Suspense thriller
Stars: Tori Spelling, Victoria Pratt and Tahmoh Penikett

Nina is thrilled when her hubby, Noah, suggests they move back to his picturesque hometown. She looks forward to the fresh start, but little does she know that Noah's crazy ex-girlfriend Callie has an unhealthy obsession with her spouse. Callie will stop at nothing to get her man back — including impersonating Nina. You won't believe what happens next!

More about Hush here.

"Tigh me up, Tigh me down" on Sci-Fi @ 10/9c

Ok, this ep just cracked me up. The dinner party scene is probably one of my favorites from the show. I thought the whole ep was fantastic, though I know everyone doesn't agree. Admittedly it was Helo-light, but still it was great.

On Caprica, the Cylon overseers fear that the Cylon Sharon is developing a strange feeling toward Helo — love.
Go to scifi.com for a more complete summary and three deleted scenes.

Or, if you've seen the episode before, you should definitely listen to Ron Moore's podcast commentary, which you can find here.

Thanks to Bladerunner at Galactica Station for the cap.

Tahmoh in "Smallville" (2004)

He played Vince in the "Smallville" episode "Resurrection" (3.15). I haven't seen the ep, but here's a plot summary that helps explain the pics:

While his father (John Schneider) is awaiting surgery, Clark (Tom Welling) befriends a young boy, Garrett (guest star James Kirk), whose brother Vince (guest star Tahmoh Penikett) just died from liver failure.

However, everyone is shocked when Vince shows up at the hospital alive and seemingly well - until his liver starts failing again. In a desperate attempt to keep his brother alive, Garrett straps a Kryptonite bomb to himself and demands that Vince be given Jonathan's liver or he will blow up the building
.
Screen caps courtesy of un4scene and Northern Lights: A Tahmoh Penikett Image Gallery. There are lots more caps from Smallville at Northern Lights, so you should be sure to check them out.

Pics of Helo in Season 2

So some people don't watch Sci-Fi spoiler promo vids, but I've made a couple screen caps of Helo in it for everyone's viewing pleasure.

They seem to be set immediately after KLG, so I don't think they'll surprise anyone.

Spoilery Ron Moore Interview at Sci-Fi Wire

Excerpts from an interivew with BSG creator Ron Moore at EnigmaCon (at the University of California, Los Angeles) on May 28 have now been posted to Sci-Fi Wire.

More Galactica Deaths Coming?

Will more characters die in the upcoming second season of SCI FI Channel's original series Battlestar Galactica?
It largely repeats (confirms) spoilers that have already been released, though a few new tidbits are revealed...
